Important announcement for intermediaries

We have announced an important change affecting our Alliance & Leicester mortgage brand from the 15th October 2010. From this date we will only be offering Abbey branded mortgages through Abbey for Intermediaries.

The decision to operate through one intermediary mortgage brand will enable us to align our product offering and increase efficiency. Our number one priority at this time is improving our service levels and focusing all our resources on one brand will help us achieve this more quickly.

To support the move to one brand, we are launching a new All Key Account exclusive with no booking fee on Friday 6th August:

• 2 year Fixed rate Homebuyer product, 75% LTV at 3.90% and a maximum loan size of £550k

We will also be offering an additional 0.02% on proc fees for all new Abbey business placed through your Abbey for Intermediaries Key Account (either network or mortgage club) between 5th August 2010 and 31st October 2010.

In addition, to further assist the transition, we will be making some changes to our Alliance & Leicester product range over the next few weeks. The first of which is that we will no longer be accepting, from close of business today, new Alliance & Leicester mortgage customer applications over 75% LTV.
